Horseman advancing right, brandishing a sable with "Zh" below, inscription in old Cyrillic "Bozhey milostyu Tsar Vsiya Rusi" ("By God's grace, Tsar of all Russia" / Inscription in old Cyrillic letters - "Denga Pskovskaya Zamanina" ("Denga of Pskov of Zamanin"). 18mmx11mm, 0.83 grams. Pskov mint. t #15; Oreshnikov 82Very rare type with the additional word "Zamanina" on the reverse. The identity of this "Zamanin", who got the commission to mint these coins, is not known.
A nice example of the early Russian wire money. Rare! Vasili III Ivanovich (25 March 1479 - 3 December 1533, Moscow) was the Grand Prince of Moscow from 1505 to 1533. He was the son of Ivan III Vasiliyevich and Sophia Paleologue and was christened with the name Gavriil. He was the father of the famous Ivan the Terrible of Russia.
