    Description

    This item is a STATUE OF LIBERTY CENTENNIAL FIRST DAY COVER and COMMEMORATIVE MEDALLION issued July 18, 1985.  The medallion which measures approximately 1 1/2" in diameter is minted in bronze by THE HISTORIC PROVIDENCE MINT and layered with 24kt gold and was sculpted by CAESAR RUFO.   The presentation cover measures approximately 3 11/16” by 6 1/2".  There is an information pamphlet about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island that measures about 4” by 6 13/16”.  There is also a letter stating that the original artwork by renowned artist HARRIS HIEN adorns a First Day Cover carrying a historic stamp and cancellation.  The stamp depicts E.A. BARTHOLDI, the Statue of Liberty sculptor. The CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY bears the SERIAL NUMBER 00444. The original cost was .00 with .00 for shipping and handling.
