" (By the Grace of God, Elizabeth I, the Empress and Autocrat of All-Russia).
Reverse:
in the center is the image of the Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle with a scepter and a power, crowned with three imperial crowns. On the chest of the eagle is a red coat of arms surrounded by a chain of the Order of St. Andrew. Above is the year of minting "1742", along the edge of the coin from right to left is the inscription "МОНЕТА.РУБЛЬ." (ruble coin).
Gurt:
In 1741, a new St. Petersburg type of ruble appeared — a portrait of a chest, in a cloak, without a badge of the order (except for very rare coins of this year, made with stamps of the Moscow type 65). This type does not change until 1754. Since 1743, the same design has been received by the St. Petersburg half-coins.
Banned coins of Ivan Antonovich are re-minted with new stamps with peregurchivanii. Traces of re-minting are often found on rubles of
1742-1743
. On rare copies, the edge of the old coin has been preserved (the St. Petersburg edge inscription on Elizabeth's rubles is the same as on Ivan's rubles, and the Moscow one has shamrocks between the words instead of the previous asterisks).
The obverse side is a portrait of the empress and the inscription "
Б М Елисаветъ I IMP I САМОД ВСЕРОС
", the reverse side is a double-headed eagle and the inscription "
монета рубль
" and the date. The sample is 802, the standard weight is 25.85 grams. Edge-the inscription "
с.петербурхскаго монетнаго двора
".
