Q: Will this allow connecting a dvi port on the computer to a displayport port  on the display, or will it only work the other way?
A:No, and it is not the cable's fault. There is NO DisplayPort display that can  receive a signal from a DVI source through a passive adapter. It's physically  impossible due to the pinouts of DVI and DisplayPort connectors.
Q:Will this work when your monitor only has display port and your computer only  has dvi?
A:The direction of this cable is from displayport to dvi instead of dvi to  displayport. I suggest that you buy our adapter of dvi to hdmi . I think your  monitor should not only have the hdmi input, but also have displayport input.  You could find it by searching "uvooi dvi to hdmi adapter.
Q:Will this work when my monitor is dvi and my computer is display port?
A:That's exactly what this is made for.
Q:Will this display port work on a Dell monitor? I had purchased another cable  that the display port connector was too long and wouldn't fit .
